Attendance Matters

Attendance at School

Being at school and on time ensures students experience a variety of learning opportunities, helps build strong friendships, enables connections between tamariki and staff, and supports social and emotional growth.

To keep our whole school community healthy, it's important children stay home and rest if they are feeling unwell, however, we encourage children to be here and involved every day to make the most of all that Ashhurst School has to offer.

At Ashhurst School, we have implementd and follow the STAR Attendance procedures for recording and monitoring attendance. We work to identify and follow up on any attendance concerns. We make sure students and their whānau are aware of the attendance expectations, and our staff are responsible for reminding whānau about these expectations. You can find more information about our attendance procedures below.

Can We Help?

Our aim is to work with whānau to get all children to school. Please don't hesitate to contact your child's teacher, our Senior Leadership Team, or our Office Admin staff if you would like us to to work with you to increase your child's attendance at school.

The STAR will continue to be improved as we learn from schools about what works best.
